Welcome to
Crafted Celebrations
I started Crafted Celebrations to share my passion for parties and entertaining. I have always been fascinated with blogging and I subscribe to so many blogs that are my go to when I need some inspiration. I hope that this blog can be that for you.
If you are throwing a baby shower for someone special that is having a boy then I highly recommend ‘A Little Wild One’ theme. It’s just so fun and I can’t wait to dive in and show you what I came up with!

The colour scheme is always a great place to start when planning any party. For this theme I chose white, green and gold and I used safari prints and palm leaves to create a jungle feel. I even went as far as buying plates with a palm leaf on them.
As soon as I knew I was hosting a baby shower there were 2 elements that I was sure about no matter what the theme would be and the first one was a balloon arch. I had only done one arch before so I knew it was a big risk, but the finished product was just amazing. I think every party needs a wow factor and for this party this was it!

I purchased an invitation on Etsy and customized it in a program called Corjl. The end product was just adorable and so on point with the theme.

And then I carried those graphics through the rest of the planning. I made signs for the drinks table and the food table.

I couldn’t get enough of these cute little animals so I kept incorporating them wherever I could and I added custom water bottle labels as well.

If you can’t tell by now, I just absolutely love love love this theme.
So I mentioned there were 2 elements that I was sure of before anything else. I already told you that the balloons were the 1st element and I can’t wait to share the 2nd one, a Charcuterie Table. I’ve created more boards then I can count but I wanted this one to be different. I wanted it to be huge, a statement and a wow factor.

In the moment it was stressfull but the only words that come to mind now are NAILED IT!

I loved tying the safari theme into the food area through the use of flowers. The florist did an amazing job keeping them simple yet impactful.

I’m a big believer that the most underrated area of a party is the drinks area. Food is always the star and we seldom designate a special area for the bevvies. It’s an important element and totally deserves its own moment. It’s important to give thought as to what kind of refreshments you want to serve; are you planning to serve alcohol, wine or strictly mocktails. You will know what’s right for your group and once that decision is made you can start planning the space.

Regardless or your beverage choices it is always a good idea to have water on hand. I love offering a flat water, a sparkling and a flavoured. It’s relatively inexpensive and covers all your bases. Since my shower was early afternoon I chose to serve a white wine Sangria and a non-alcoholic wine for the mom-to-be. If your shower includes children perhaps some juice might be a good idea.
The drink area is another great spot to infuse your theme using a sign, custom water bottle labels and even a table cloth. I picked up this safari fabric at Fabricland for under $20 and I don’t think anyone even noticed that I didn’t bother to hem it.

Dessert is always a great way to enforce your theme with cakes, cupcakes, toppers or cookies. For this shower I went with mini bundt cakes and theme cookies. I also had cellophane bags on hand so guests could bring a cookie home for a later treat.

I loved my little custom toppers that I made on my Cricut. If you have or know someone that has a cutting machine it’s a really inexpensive touch.
A shower is just not complete without a few fun games. Although there is no need to make your games theme oriented you can definitely tie them in by printing them on theme patterned paper. I used the same animal borders that you saw on my signs and decorations.

So you’ve prepared a feast, served delicious bevvies and played a few fun games and now you need a thoughtful little gift to thank your guests for coming. Is this really necessary? I mean after all you’ve already spent a fair amount of money. In 2 words…HECK YES!
My only rule for party gifts is that it is something useful and not added clutter. When my children were young and I was looking for teachers gifts my go to was something they could eat or drink. So following that rule and knowing its a favorite of the mom-to-be (when she’s not pregnant) I chose to give my guests a mini bottle of Prosecco with a wine glass charm tied on the neck.

I made the wine glass charms using beads and ribbon I found at the dollar store and I think they were a great finishing touch to a simple gift. And of course I added the theme photos to the sign.
AND THATS A WRAP!!! An amazing shower that I had so much fun planning and the mom-to-be will always remember. If you have any questions or use this theme I’d love to hear from you in the comments below.
