Crafted Celebrations
I started Crafted Celebrations to share my passion for parties and entertaining. I have always been fascinated with blogging and I subscribe to so many blogs that are my go to when I need some inspiration. I hope that this blog can be that for you.
I always say that I love any party theme, but some are just better than others. If you have a golfer in your family this is one you are going to have to use. It’s super versatile and can be used for any age or occasion. So far I’ve used it for a father’s day, an adult birthday and a one year old birthday and I’m sure I’ll use it for more in the future.

A couple years ago I wanted to make Father’s Day a little extra special for my hubby who LOVES golfing so it was a no brainer. It was time to PAR-TEE!
I jumped on Amazon and purchased a few things I knew I wouldn’t find around my house like grass placemats and a toy golf cart. Then I searched Etsy for some downloadable argyle patterned paper and went to work creating the golf themed day I knew he would love.
Knowing the weather would probably be nice since it was June I planned the decorations to be outside. But any time you are having an outdoor event you should always have a plan to move it quickly inside if needed. On this day, the weather cooperated and I was able to do everything outside.

I set the outdoor table using a thin burlap runner, some bright placemats, smaller green grass placemats and white melamine dishes.

For each place setting I used my etsy argyle pattern to cover a ceramic pot. I used 1 of the placemats to cut out small pieces to put in the pot. Then I inserted a tee and topped it with a golf ball.

Down the centre of the table I used square vases from the dollar store and had my local florist make centre pieces in greens and yellow. I covered the square vases in the argyle paper to match the pots. I used an artificial grass pot that I had on hand and green votive candle holders.

Of course any golf themed table would not be complete without some loose golf balls and tees sprinkled around.

The number one rule when creating a theme party is to tie all your elements together which is why I purchased the argyle paper pack from Etsy. I wanted something that I could use in several areas to tie the theme together. Custom printed paper is a great way to tie things together and etsy has so many choices for any theme or colour scheme.
A fun easy diy is to glue the word Titleist on white paper lanterns and hang them around the space.
I also used the paper to create a banner using my Cricut and hung it across the glass privacy wall behind the table.

You can also use smaller paper lanterns and place them on over sized martini glasses.
We had bbq steaks for dinner with roasted potatoes, veggies and a new green salad I found on pinterest. It was extra green which tied into my theme and was super delicious so I know we’ll be having it again soon. If you want to give it a try you can find the recipe right here.
For dessert I made a simple cake, iced it green and using the #? wilton tip I created grass with smooth area for the green. I used the toy golf cart and flag pin that I purchased on amazon on top. I also made a small sand trap using graham cracker crumbs.

This theme is also so much fun for a one year old birthday which you can read about here.
Hopefully if you have a golf lover in your family you will give this theme a try. I know it will be a huge it!
